Our Story

Control Alt Repeat is based on our main mission: we believe old tech deserves a second chance. Based at White Cross Business Park in Lancaster, we help local people and businesses recycle, reuse and recover their IT equipment, keeping it out of landfill and putting it back to work.

The idea for Control Alt Repeat began in late 2023, when we (Matt and Jake) shared a passion for tech, recycling, and starting something of our own.

In May 2024, we moved into our workshop at White Cross.

We began by selling scrap and soon invested in our first 3D printer.

Our service has expanded to include a VHS to DVD conversion service and data recovery service partnering with Lazarus.

What started as a small idea has become an Aladdin’s Cave of tech, full of challenges, adventures, and second chances for old equipment.

By early 2025, the printers hadn’t stopped and our services grew to include IT disposal, repairs, and refurbished sales.

The Team Behind Control Alt Repeat

Matt – The Engineer

With a background in software engineering and IT, Matt brings technical know-how and a lifelong love of computers. He’s been immersed in tech since the age of 4, when he first got his hands on an Amstrad.

Jake – The Business Guy

Jake has run gaming shops and online businesses, giving him the experience to help Control Alt Repeat grow. His focus on customer service and affordable tech keeps us moving forward. You often find Jake manning the 3D Printing set up, responding to your queries, and mending tech.
